The "Zoo" Series

This group of paintings I made in 1998, starting with "Looking In" before formalizing the idea. They are all 3 feet by 6 feet, done in acrylic paints. I call them "Zoo" because the aliens seemed to be looking at the viewer rather as if he or she were in, well, a zoo. That's just a working title, because they are really more about the outsider looking in, and are sort of about the various attitudes one can take in that situation (intense curiosity, belligerence, etc.), though that was I have to admit unintentional. Don't ask where the names came from; I really don't know. As usual, comments can be sent to [email protected] .
